Although more than four months has passed, I think Windows 8
is still a fresh OS and few people are still hesitant to upgrade to
Windows 8 or leave Windows 7, but this doesn’t bother Microsoft , which
calls Win 8 the greatest innovation and foundation for future operating
systems.
It seems the Redmond Company is keeping their word and
they are already working on two new projects, the first project is
called Windows Blue OS, which is apparently the
successor of Windows 8. I think instead of service pack, Microsoft is
pushing a major upgrade package for the current OS.
Windows Blue:
Windows Blue
will be a free upgrade to Win8, the upgrade is intended to bring major
improvements and changes to Windows 8 user interface, which include
more personalization options that allow users to customize the most
criticized “Start Screen”. Also it is believed that the first build of
Internet Explorer 11 will arrive in this upgrade.
WindowsBlue
will be released in this August and the public beta will be released in
June month.Although Microsoft is tight-lipped on the Blue project, but
according to MSFTKitchen,
ads posted on Microsoft Careers website reveal the project is in
development. Also below leaked screen shot of preview version of Windows
blue used by developers confirms the upgrade package (or service pack)
is eminent.
Windows 9:
Windows 9 is the
next project that Microsoft is working on,this OS is the successor of
windows 8 and standalone Windows operating system, which will be
released in November 2014.The first beta of win 9 is already in
development and will be released on January 7,2014.
According to a Russian forum spotted by Ghacks,Windows
9 release candidate will be released in July 2014 and in October
Windows 9 will be pushed to RTM. This is further conformed by ads on
Microsoft careers website, which reveals the windows 9 is in
development.
So
exactly two years after the launch of windows 8, we can see Windows 9, a
major upgrade between windows blue and win8. Regarding features of
Windows 9, there is no official information. But we cannot expect a start
button similar to windows 7, however according insider reports so far
we know that the start screen will be further improved, adding more
configuration options, improved touch support and stable version of
Internet Explorer 11 will arrive with the new os.
