Full-frame Canon EOS 6D comes with GPS and Wi-Fi

If you though the EOS 5D Mark III from Canon was a meaty DSLR camera, you’ve got to have a look at the sleek new offering from the company. Dubbed the EOS 6D, the new Canon cam is a lot more compact than its predecessor and is the first Canon offering to boast of GPS and Wi-Fi. As a still shooter, the 6D comes with a unique “High Dynamic Range” (HDR) mode which allows users to capture the same shot in three different exposures.

The cam then combines the three to provide a richer color and better detailing. Up to nine different images can be combined in the cam’s “Multiple Exposure” mode to provide an even richer picture. When you need to see in the dark, the cam’s ISO can be cranked up to 102,400 though its normal range stays between 100 and 25,600. The device is also geared to provide video recording at 30 fps with a resolution of 1080p and at 60 fps at 720p resolution.

The full-frame EOS 6D comes with a 20.2 megapixel resolution lens and is packed with a DIGIC 5+ technology. The image processor allows the camera to shoot continuously at a rate of 4.5 frames per second. The 6D comes with no built-in flash and no fold out arm though it can be controlled from afar through the Remote App for iOS and Android. The Canon EOS 6D will be priced at approximately $2,100 sans the extra lens and will be available starting in December.
